Note: Visual graphic is stripped off. There are few reasons as to why:

  1. MS (MicroSoft) has finally ended development on IE (Internet Explorer) Mac browser - which this site no longer supports.
  2. You are either viewing on a handheld or mobile device, a screen reader, a text-browser or an archaic browser.

In any case, site content is still made accessible. However, please consider upgrading to a modern web browser. Thank you.

June Movie Doubles

Image via ComingSoon.net

We had a trilogy of blockbuster in May. Though I’ve yet to watch Speed Racer, because the Missus has been stalling me. The word is, the movie’s too colourful, too cartoon-ish and all that lame crap of an excuses. She got me the Lego sets though.

It’s either they forgot or are completely ignorant, on who’s directing it – The Wachowski Brothers, of the Matrix, not because of the Matrix, but because of their creativity and courage to push boundaries artistically! So anyways, before I sidetracked further, from now on I will make a point to myself to watch the month’s blockbuster/s within the month itself. Which brings me to, the double feature this month.

June 13 – The Incredible Hulk

Another Marvel-to-Movie. Yes there was a Hulk movie few years back but that hurried-cheap-crappy-assed production sucked so badly that it justified a whole new make over, a reboot. Re-titled The Incredible Hulk.A fresh story arc that somewhat stays true to the comic. Somewhat because I don’t read Hulk comics, so whatever to that.

Better action and more greenery fugliness. This time it’s featuring the likes of Edward Norton, whom we all know what an outstanding actor he is (American History X, Fight Club). Plus who is a Marvel comic fan himself. Co-starring as well is the gorgeous Liv Tyler. And I’m definitely watching because of Ed, but Liv is a bonus eye candy.

June 27 – Wall.E

It’s not E.T. on wheels, it’s Wall.E. To be honest, I’m a sucker for anything Pixar. Anything, you name it, I’ll pay, watch and buy it. No questions asked. It’s visually proven from Toy Story to Ratatouille (more than a decade in between, can you believe it?!) that their animation, computer graphics, whatever else has evidently set the bar high for the industry.

But, what is form without substance. Pixar has one of the best team of writers and directors that creates not only compelling stories but characters that endears to us. Just take for example, Woody, Buzz, Nemo, Sully and Mike Wazowski! Oh by the way, Wall.E is directed by the same folks who brought you Finding Nemo.

Apart from the 2 must-watch above, there are at least 2 more worth-checking out though less blockbuster-esque titles to look forward to. Kungfu Panda by Dreamworks starring Jack Black opening on June 6. Wild animals doing martial arts, a recipe for disaster to think about it. But the trailers were funny so lets hope its consistent with the whole movie.

Then there’s The Happening by M. Night Shyamalan opening the same day as the big green monster, June 13. So if you can’t get tix for the latter, you’ll have to make do with Night’s 7th major film, lets just hope it is what the title implies. Though it’s understandably hard to expect anything less than a twist because that’s what he’s known for. Lets just see.

I’m still gonna catch Speed Racer, but it’s ending next week and the location and timing is all f up this week. That or I’ll just have to make do with DVD rental. And I’ll make sure the Missus won’t stall me again for this month’s visual escapades. Got that Hon?

Gotta love movie posters design. Ok, that was random.

“Better action and more greenery fugliness,” I can’t believe you described Edward Norton THAT WAY SIA!!!!! I DISAGREE!

It’s NOT a description of Norton, but the big green abomination called Hulk!
