Trust And Respect, A Responsibility
Saturday November 4, 2006
To trust someone, you have to have a certain degree of respect for that person, likewise to respect a person, you need to have a little faith in them. We all want to be respected and trusted, well, winning the respect and trust of people most of the time is the first simple step. The tough part is maintaining it. Having garnered the respect and having build up the trust, it is then up to us, to uphold and nurture it.
Like all things, our actions and sincerity defines our character and personality. If our actions are for the moment, then sadly the respect we acquire is for the moment. Sincerity, plays a vital role as well next to our actions. Without that little bit of truth and honesty we portray in our actions, people around us will forever be second guessing our motives and intentions. In other words, the trust is virtually nonexistent.
In the things we do or don’t, it matters. When we learn to respect ourselves, naturally, people will see us in a different light. The same goes for sincerity. When we are true to ourselves, that bit of truth and honesty in our actions will be the foundation and longevity of many strong relationships, business and/or personal.
Remember, trust and respect are fragile, expensive and priceless gifts. Once broken, it can be costly, and some prices are just too high to pay. So be mindful of our actions and not forgetting to clean our slates daily. It is then our personal and social responsibility, to be consistent in the way we portray ourselves.

Very true. An excellent piece that strikes a chord in every reader’s heart and mind (hopefully). Sincerity and trust are two important elements in human relationships and if I may add, another important element would be communication. We must always remember that Talk is Cheap but Miscommunication that is Expensive.

Yara, you are right. Talking is indeed cheap. However, couple good communication with actions and sincerity, and it’ll successfully work wonders in any aspects of relationships. Appreciate your additional input, valuable as always!
